With a natural aptitude as an innovative entrepreneur and creative inventor, Jeremiah Johnson applies his skills and marketing expertise to the businesses that he owns and represents. It is this fascinating combination of business-savvy and creative entrepreneur that has led to his one of his latest ventures Geodex® Search (GEODEX LLC), a human interaction driven search engine with a patent pending platform. Short for Geographic Indexing, Geodex® provides the first ever self-learning search engine. GroovyDo™, a new easy way to search, buy and share what's local is powered by Geodex® Search and is scheduled to beta launch June 2011.
Not surprisingly, Jeremiah Johnson began his first peek into the world of free enterprise at an early age, growing up in an entrepreneurial family in a rural community of North Carolina. Upon graduating Alleghany High School in 1999, he attended Surry Community College and Western Carolina University; only to realize his true passion and inspirations were destined for other forthcoming personal pursuits.
After dropping out of pre-med school, Jeremiah immediately began pursuit of his dreams. He launched his first successful startup business, which was a regional advertising company that he sold nine months later. That first burst of success ignited a hunger to express his naturally inventive and creative talents, which led Mr. Johnson to join a mergers and acquisitions company where he invented a one of the first secure file sharing and management system called BrokerFiles. While there, he gained the hands-on experience that was necessary to learn how the most successful corporations operated, excelled and profited to their maximum potential. This sought-after motivation was the stepping stone for his next endeavor, Etomic Companies.
ETOMIC fueled the hunger for what would become a portfolio of companies, beginning in 2001 with BrokerFiles, the first secure file management and sharing application; a creative marketing, design (EtomicMarketing) and interactive hosting company (EtomicHosting) and a social networking music community in 2008 (YouTunes). Also under the umbrella of ETOMIC came the creation of Carports.com, which became the number one retailer in the United States for outdoor steel products, later resulting with its acquisition in 2008 and another division again in 2010. Jeremiah Johnson propelled the company to an impressive $40 million in annual sales within 36 months, including popular destination websites such as Carports.com, Barns.com, MetalGarages.com, and QuickCanopies.com, among others.
While in the e-commerce industry, Jeremiah traveled to China and began his own metal carport and garage brand, including engineering a new product line with unique patent pending features. Within a short time on the Internet he discovered that his invention would bring heavy demand when it hit the US marketplace in 2007. That same year, Mr. Johnson became managing partner of Steel Lending Network, a nationwide lending company that financed residential consumers in the metal carport and garage industry within the US.
In addition to these impressive accomplishments, Mr. Johnson has hands-on involvement in the nanotechnology research and development marketplace, real estate development, social applications, and geographic relevance technology. More recently Mr. Johnson founded several new innovative patent-pending inventions; GroovyDo™ & Geodex® Search, in which are described above, and a new telecommunications company called TalkTones™.
Mr. Johnson has founded and exited ten ventures successfully before thirty years of age, has multiple patents pending, attended Harvard Business School for Intellectual Property and Business Strategy, while running his latest endeavors and is currently training for his pilot’s license for rotorcraft. Apart from being a highly ambitious, Jeremiah Johnson is a devoted partner, friend and businessman. He is an avid exotic car owner and enthusiast who enjoys traveling and spending time on the glorious sunny Florida coastline. Of course, he never stops dreaming, creating and implementing the next startup.
